Trio Mondrian

We would like to share with you these last moments of our music making as Trio Mondrian. It has been an emotional week, playing our last concerts in Israel and Italy as a group. 12 years, a long journey, a treasure, and a privilege, no words to add, the music talks for itself... 😢❤🙏

"The innate talent of the three Israeli musicians puts them firmly in the ranks of recognized trios. The soulful rendering of Ben-Ari, the masterful playing of Bard, the passionate artistry of Karni... this is a trio that compares with the best.”

Il Piccolo, Trieste

"Top repertoire performed by top performers. The Berlin based Israeli "Trio Mondrian" has managed to establish itself among the very best trios in only a few years time. In 2007 it was awarded First Prize in the Chamber Music Contest in Trieste, in 2008 the Audience Price at the Bologna Festival and another prize in 2009 at the Berletto Trust. Pianist Ohad Ben-Ari, violinist Daniel Bard and cellist Hila Karni show their mastership in two 20th century works for pianotrio. Ravel's one-and-only Trio is extremely demanding regarding virtuosity, balance and atmosphere. Trio Mondrian succeeds in every respect. Their concentrated performance casts a spell on their audience. Their finesse is fabulous; witness the final part! That musicians with these qualities and background know how to touch the heart of the matter is more than proved in Shostakovich's Second Piano Trio (1944) with its desolate atmosphere and hallucinating dance rhythms. Horrible and wonderful. And perfectly recorded as well."
Luister, October 2012 - awarded maximum score!
